2020 Benefit Spotlight: Year in Review!

2020 has thrown a lot of unexpected curves at everyone. We wouldn’t blame you if you’ve missed one of our blog posts or two! But we at FACT are always here for you, finding the best discounts and ready to listen. This year we’ve highlighted just a few of our offerings to help save you time and money. Check out the list below and our full set of benefits here!

Pet Insurance

Benefit Spotlight-Pet Insurance

We all love our pets! However, keeping our furry (or not so furry) friends healthy can be expensive. Add in an unexpected injury or illness, and your veterinarian fees can easily be thousands of dollars. That’s why having pet insurance can be an integral part of planning for your financial future.

We at FACT are pleased to partner with Nationwide® to provide discounts on pet insurance for our members! Coverage is available for your dog, cat, bird or other exotic animal with reimbursement for veterinary charges according to a specific benefit schedule. Nationwide® Pet Insurance covers thousands of medical problems and conditions related to accidents, emergencies, poisonings and illnesses (including cancer).

This valuable (and hard-to-find) protection is made possible through special arrangement between FACT and Nationwide® — which is the oldest and largest provider of health insurance for pets in the United States.

FACT members receive a 5% group discount on core Nationwide® policies, 10% if 2 or 3 pets are enrolled and 15% if you insure 4 or more pets.

You can use any licensed veterinarian anywhere — even when you’re away from home! Log-in to the FACT portal and visit the “Pet Insurance” benefit box to enroll your pets today.

Benefit Spotlight: NBTelemedicine

Today we highlight one of our newest benefits, NBTelemedicine! NBTelemedicine helps make healthcare convenient and affordable with 24/7 access to a doctor by phone, email, or video.

These virtual visits help make healthcare convenient, immediate, and affordable with 24/7 access to a doctor to treat common ailments for only $38 per visit. The visit can take place by a phone call, email, or a web-based video call, and may include discussing symptoms, treatment options, and prescriptions.

This access to physicians through FACT is for you and your entire immediate family, even when you are not in your home state.

How does it work? Log-in to the FACT site and click on the telemedicine benefit. From there you will be directed to the Benefit Portal where you can request a service. Request a doctor to call back within two hours or schedule a specific time for a visit.

When appropriate, the doctor may prescribe a medication for you to pick up at your selected local pharmacy. Avoid a trip to the doctor’s office or urgent care!

Disclosures: NBTelemedicine does not guarantee that a prescription will be written. NBTelemedicine does not prescribe DEA controlled substances, lifestyle drugs and certain other drugs which may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. NBTelemedicine physicians reserve the right to deny care for potential misuse of services. NBTelemedicine operates subject to state regulations.

Disaster Aid

Attention FACT Members!

The world can be a scary place. FACT sponsors a program designed to get money promptly into the hands of affected members when a natural disaster occurs.

The goal is to help with your basic needs during those trying days immediately following a:

+ hurricane

+ tornado

+ flood

+ fire

+ or other disastrous event, including acts of terrorism

FACT has also recently opened up this benefit for those who may have suffered a disaster due to COVID-19.

Up to $250 may be paid without proof of loss … no forms to complete, no need to stand in a long line.

Just give us a call at 1-800-872-3228 Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Central Standard Time.

You also can email us to inquire about the benefit at cservice@usafact.org.

The Disaster Aid Program is not insurance. Payments are benevolent in nature, disbursed at the discretion of an independent committee and as funds allow. Small Business Recovery

Attention FACT Members!

Have you been professionally or personally affected by COVID-19?

Never before has FACT had the opportunity to assist its members in such a personal way…we offer a program that may help!

FACT’s Small Business Recovery (SBR) was developed to provide $250 in immediate aid to small business applicants who qualify – without a lot of paperwork or red tape.

Although a small amount, it can sometimes be enough to hold off bankruptcy or to pay the one bill that threatens to push a business over the edge. We know COVID-19 has disrupted our members’ lives and businesses—FACT is here for you.

Please Note: These programs are not insurance. Payments are benevolent in nature, disbursed at the discretion of an independent committee and as funds allow. Payments from the Funds are available only for conditions which manifest themselves 61 or more days after the effective date of your FACT membership.

Recent Member Testimonial – May 2020

“I just wanted to say, how grateful I am for the help F.A.C.T has given me and my family during this time. There comes a time when everyone needs a little help, this time is no different. In a world of bureaucratic red-tape, having some aid quickly, can make all the difference. In my opinion, the value offered by programs in this organization, over the long haul, exceeds the small cost to join. And I just wanted to say thanks.”

Ambulance Aid

Ambulance Aid

Did you know that one of the benefits of being a FACT member is ambulance reimbursement?

We hope you and your family are not in need of ambulance services…but if the situation arises, FACT is here to help!
In the event of an emergency, an eligible FACT member can receive up to $200 for actual expenses incurred for the use of ground ambulance service.

Reimbursement includes one trip per member per year — to or from a hospital as a result of either accident or sickness.

FACT is always here for you. Read some of the testimonials and notes we’ve received from past ambulance beneficiaries and join FACT today!

“I just wanted to let you know we received our check today. Thank you so much. This has been a stressful time for us, and this really helps. Thankfully, we are feeling better. I had a broken sternum, but am finally getting back to normal.” Letitia P.

“The check for the ambulance is greatly appreciated.
I am grateful to report that I am rebounding very well from the stroke I suffered. Part of the rebound I attribute to the medics’ quick assessment, securing me for transport – including carrying me down from the second floor, and convenience to the hospital.

The hospital staff and therapists also provided excellent care.

Understanding the high probability of serious disability and death from a stroke, I am a very lucky man.
Again, thanks for the ambulance benefit.” Gary K.

“We wish to thank you and the FACT team for the $200.00 check we received after turning in the bill. We were glad to receive it and so quickly.

Please tell your team we really appreciated it. Albert was hospitalized for 8 days with pneumonia. It was his first major hospitalization. Fortunately, we had a short-term medical policy though United Health Care since he left his job of 26 years to pursue other employment that did not offer medical benefits. We both work and are in that medigap space that makes medical insurance unaffordable through the healthcare marketplace. A year’s worth of premiums costs the same as one of our salaries, and was a very high deductible.

Thanks again for sending the check. It really made our day.” Albert S.

“I just received the $200.00 Lump Sum Ambulance Benefit in the mail today. Thank you so much for your kind and prompt attention to my claim. It helps a great deal.” Valerie A.

This is NOT insurance. A special fund has been established by the Council for Disaster Assistance, Inc. (CDA) for the sole purpose of furnishing the Ambulance Benefit for FACT members.

“Yesterday, the Extreme Robo Ops team that FACT sponsored competed in an all-day robotics competition.  The team has been meeting twice a week since receiving the grant and gave a great effort at the competition.  In fact, of the 11 teams competing at this location in the state, we received the Research Award. This would not have been possible without the generous support of FACT to our team.  In addition to having fun, the boys learned many leadership, technical and communication skills in the process.  We intend to continue meeting and improving on our skills for next year’s competition.” – Kim H.

“I am thrilled to have been selected for this grant, and I wanted to let you know that even more than the finances is the encouragement that your organization would recognize the importance of this opportunity for our kids.  Because you have endorsed it financially, I have also been successful in getting more donations.  I am confident that we will have a playground that will be even more beneficial due to your generosity.” – Kay C.

“Just a personal note from all of the families and parent volunteers to say thank you for selecting the Franklin High School art club to receive a FACT grant!  It is hard to put into words what a difference this money will make to the students.  The kids will now continue to have a place to go after school – a place to fit in, be accepted, and learn serious art skills and techniques.  I wish you could meet some of them personally – such a great and diverse group.  Today in club the kids will be cutting, designing & hand painting holiday greeting cards using watercolors and oils.  They always turn out beautifully and look good enough to pass as professionally done.  Did we say thank you yet?  Seriously, please know how much we appreciate this gift!” – Kelly B.

“Thank you so much for helping with funding for my Eagle Scout Project. The project went very smoothly and it looks great! Literally, hundreds of people see it every day. This is what I did for it: I redesigned the landscape by the main entrance at Dayton Christian High School. For my project, I planted four new trees (Red Radiance Maple), and around each of those trees I planted 5 black-eyed Susan. There was an existing landscape bed by the main doors of the school that my troop and I ripped out and replaced with a new bed that consists of Gold Flame Spirea, Boxwood, and Daylilies. Again, thank you so much for your generosity and for seeing my Eagle Scout project as being as valuable as I do.”- Seth W.

“The First Glance Student Center, Inc. Board of Trustees would like to thank FACT for the contribution to our Football Dinner Program. As board members, we truly believe in the mission of First Glance to connect students and their communities to Christ and the church through real, loving, and non-threatening avenues. We appreciate people like you who are willing to come alongside us to help us accomplish that mission. In partnership with FACT Visions to Ventures, First Glance will provide the local Kenmore community high school football team with weekly meals as well as encouragement and the chance to enhance team unity. We appreciate FACT’s dedication to its members and the organizations they support! Thank you!” – Hannah N.

“On behalf of the Samaritan Center, I would like to thank you for the $2,500 grant awarded under the Visions to Ventures Community Grants Program. Your generosity is helping the Samaritan Center to provide more assistance to the residents of Henry County who are in need during this holiday season.” – Jodi B.

“Please accept our sincere appreciation for the grant with Helping Hands Assistant Program.
We were able to feed 75 families who were desperate need of grocery assistance during the Thanksgiving and the forthcoming Christmas holidays. We will continue to reach out to our community during these hard times when the state agencies feel they can no longer reach out to the poor and needy and have shut their doors. Again, thank you, your generosity will not be forgotten.” – Cynethia L.

“Thank you and everyone at FACT. The grant award letter brightened everyone’s day here in Homer, Alaska, especially the very enthusiastic volunteers heading up the Homer Playground Project!” – Joy S.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of Clothes To You I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to your organization for the $2,000.00 “Visions to Ventures” grant we received. The Board of Directors met and decided to spend the majority of the money on new shoes as our inventory was low and we have a strong demand for shoes, especially for children. We were able to purchase 299 pairs of shoes with the money as well as approximately 30 toddler sized shirts and bottoms.

Many in our local community are struggling to juggle their finances. They have to decide between paying rent/mortgage and feeding their families and new clothing many times is not an option. We continue to work with our local partners to help meet their needs.

We can do our work only because of the ongoing support we receive from people like you. Offering a simple “Thank You” for your gift never quite feels like enough to me, because what you have done will make such a difference in the lives of many people. The best I can do is tell you how much we appreciate your support for Clothes To You. We hope we can continue to demonstrate that we value your support and that we use it wisely to provide help to those in need.” – Sandra T.
