Ready to Travel? For many of us, it’s been a long time since taking a true vacation far from home. As of April 2, 2021, the CDC has officially made the recommendation that it is safe for people who are fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized vaccine to travel domestically. This means that unless the place you are visiting requires it, you will not need to get COVID tested before or after arrival to your destination and do not need to self-quarantine.

However, the CDC does still recommend travelers should:
– Wear a mask over your nose and mouth
– Stay 6 feet from others and avoid crowds
– Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer

Always check the CDC and local guidelines before you leave, as these recommendations are always subject to change. But if the stars align and you’re feeling the travel bug, where should you start? As one of the main tenets of our association (and the “T” in FACT), we have a ton of resources and benefits ready for you.

First, make sure you access FACT’s exclusive travel portal. You can save on hotels, flights, things to do and car rentals by simply entering your preferred dates. Savings are also available at theme parks, including Disney World, Disneyland, Universal Studios and Sea World Parks. This portal even compares FACT’s exclusive deals for hotels with the current prices offered by Priceline, Orbitz and Hotels.com. Rest assured you’ll know you’re getting the best deals without spending hours online.

Travel portalFACT Members also receive a 10% discount at Choice Hotels—which includes Comfort Inn, Econo Lodge, and Quality Inn among others. If you need a rental car, FACT also has exclusive discount codes for Alamo, Avis, Budget, and National rental car services. Need a Road Map in case of spotty reception? FACT Members receive free road maps.

Life still happens, and even with masks and social distancing, people still can get sick while they travel. Don’t spend your vacation in a crowded doctor’s office or clinic for a common medical issue. FACT Members have access to MyTelemedicine, affordable and remote access to a doctor 24/7 for just $38 a visit.

Finally, should the unthinkable occur, FACT provides up to $25,000 in Medical Evacuation Insurance for its members and their dependents. This coverage also includes a benefit for certain family travel expenses for up to 5 days incurred by an immediate family member if an insured person is confined to a hospital at least 75 miles from the permanent residence and the transportation arrangements are made by the Assistance Services Administrator.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions about your benefits or about becoming a member of FACT. We can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Standard Time. We are also available at cservice@usafact.org.
